I'm not aware of the "contest" that keeps being alluded to in the comments for this pic, but I have to say I like it very much!!! I can't begin to say how nice it is to see "happy" reploids who aren't trying to kill each other, or trying label one another as mavericks. It really is a big change of pace, and the extreme gestures taken to show this emotion is very much welcome. It makes you think just how much of a depressing series Mega Man X really is, as there are few to none of these kinds of moments in them, but death and madness are abound.

Well, needless to say, you did a fantastic job =). Kudos!!!!!

EEEY! Thanks for the kind words=D If you haven't found out already, this was done for UDON's MM Tribute illustration contest early last year. Lots of amazing stuff that made it in the book and lots of amazing stuff that didn't make it in the book.

I like that the games are grim, but never seem dark just for the sake of being dark. It's like, 'Any objections to killing off small reploid children with an E rating?' Goodness, no, that's par for the course in the X series! Makes the happy moments all special and fuzzy.

Ho-ho! I love this picture. Megaman is a fantastic series, and this game in particular really impacted me as a player. For one, I now had this new guy charging into the scene. With dual guns. How much more awesome could you get? Plus, Zero and X were still hanging around, so I simply had to play it.

But, I digress. This is such a fun drawing. :D

Whoa, merci beaucoup! What you've said here reminds me: fans tend to write off X7 as the worst game in the series (and it was unbelievabad in some ways) - but there was still a lot of excitement attached to my experience, seeing X and company for the first time in 3D and getting a new playable character. For all its glaring flaws, it's still an MMX game...A pretty awesome time, if not only for its novelty.

Honestly, I think it's mostly because of the 3D jump. There were... A LOT of awkward moments in that game (namely missing a platform in any of the levels and falling to your doom). I personally would have enjoyed it a lot more if they kept to the 2D aspect, but you gotta respect them for trying something different. Can't succeed if you don't know what works and what doesn't work, right?
